WHAT IS WOODWORM AND WET ROT
There are several species of Woodworm and Wet Rot Fungus that can infest the timbers of our property but there is only one Dry Rot Fungus (Serpula lacrymans), so it is important that the problem is correctly diagnosed. Our Property Care Association qualified timber and damp surveyor will carry out a thorough inspection of your property to determine the extent and type of the infestation or decay. By far the most common of wood boring insects is the Common Furniture Beetle (Anobium punctatum) (Below left) where as the most common Wet rot Fungus is Cellar Fungus (Coniophora puteana) (Below right).
Following our survey you will receive our detailed report, together with our recommendations. Our very experienced operatives will lift approximately every sixth floor board, to gain access to he floor joists and undersides of the floor boards. The timber are the cleaned, prior to being treated with a high performance aqueous preservative, using a coarse spray. Our preservatives are classed as non hazardous and have a one hour re-entry time. All preservative treatment carried out by us is covered by our established 20 year guarantee, which for a single low cost premium, and be protected by Guarantee Protection Insurance (GPI)
