Tapco Turns 50!

As Tapco HomeDry closes in on a significant milestone, we are reflecting on half a century of service. Tapco was first established in 1971 by John Millroy as Tapco, or Treatment and Preservation Company. The company has experienced steady and sustainable growth over the past 50 years, gradually expanding services while maintaining consistently high standards.

As a long-term member of the Property Care Association (PCA), Tapco’s work is recognised by the UK’s leading trade association for property care. The organisation now offers damp proofing, basement conversion, water damage treatment, woodworm and dry rot treatment and property maintenance. Tapco visits around 4,000 properties every year across London and the Home Counties, making it one of the leading experts in damp control in the region.

Tapco is also trusted by household names including National Rail and Barclays. Previous projects include dry rot treatment at the beautiful Weybridge Cemetery Chapel to structural waterproofing for the Burberry flagship store. From small apartments to large commercial buildings, Tapco has spent the last five decades providing tailored support to residential and commercial customers.

The company was created in response to a need for expert knowledge of damp control. For the past 50 years, John Millroy has been a permanent fixture at the head of the organisation, providing expertise and guidance. The organisation has flourished into a team of experts and specialists, able to identify and find a solution to any problem. Landlords and property owners can protect their investments with the help of Tapco HomeDry’s services. And heritage buildings are given a new lease of life thanks to expert restorative work by Tapco.

In such turbulent times, it is important to celebrate these victories. 50 years of continuous operation is a considerable milestone, and we look forward to another 50 years of service excellence, working hard to protect the architectural heritage of this country.
