What can I expect in your report?
Investigations carried out by us are very thorough and our reports, the most detailed in our industry. We make you aware of any building defects that can cause damp or decay and provide you with the correct advice on how to prevent it. Our report will contain clear recommendations, images of the moisture readings and a floor plan. Our surveyors are non-commission based and we only allow for remedial work where it is necessary. We are professional and it shows.
How long has Tapco been established?
Are your surveyors qualified?
Yes, they have many years experience and are qualified damp & timber surveys, to the high standards of the PCA (Property Care Association).
Do you make a charge for surveys?
Like many reputable companies it is our policy to charge a nominal fee for most surveys. However, if you instruct us to carry out the work, we will deduct this from the cost, so it becomes an actual free survey. Don’t be misled by companies who offer free survey because many of their surveyors are commission based, so it is their interest to get as much work as possible. Tapco HomeDry’s surveyors are not paid commission and will only allow for remedial work, where it is necessary.
We do not charge regular clients, referrals or corporate clients for damp and timber surveys.
How soon can I expect my report after you have carried out the survey?
You will usually receive our comprehensive report within three working days from the survey being carried out. This is usually by email but if you prefer a hard copy, this isn’t a problem. We know that if you are buying or selling a property your report may be urgent, so just tell us and we’ll try and speed this up for you.
Do I have to accept all of the work you recommend?
No, but we strongly recommend that you use us for all specialist work, including and especially the damp proof plastering system, which, if not done exactly to our specification, could invalidate our guarantee. Your are also advised to always use reputable, qualified contractors for all other aspects of work you need. Do it once, do it right.
Are your technicians trained?
Yes, our technicians are fully trained and very experienced in all aspects of damp proofing, timber preservation and property maintenance. They are particularly experienced at working in occupied properties, are always helpful, will respect your property and belongings and consider your needs at all times.
What happens to my guarantee if Tapco HomeDry ceases trading?
For a single premium, you can insure our guarantee for 10-years, with GPI (Guarantee Protection Insurance). This one off premium is very reasonable and we will process this for you. For your piece of mind this should be seriously considered and is very good assurance, especially if you ever decide to sell your property.
